Duration: 1 year

Purpose of the Position: To contribute expertise in Safety and Automation Systems, Telecom, and OT Systems by assisting in the planning/evaluation of changes and overseeing modification projects to ensure that work on the systems complies with laws/regulations and governing documentation, while ensuring the safety and integrity of the facilities. This includes performing repairs and maintenance on field-wide systems to actively contribute to safety and maintain desired system availability.

Responsibilities:

  • Daily monitoring of assigned equipment components within Safety and Automation Systems, Telecom, and OT Systems.
  • Ensuring close collaboration with onshore and offshore departments.
  • Providing guidance and support to personnel from subcontractors working remotely on the systems.
  • Serving as a coordinating link between suppliers, onshore, and offshore organizations.
  • Ensuring QA during changes and modifications to assigned systems.
  • Particularly responsible for monitoring assigned equipment components located in Tananger.
  • Making independent assessments and choices of solutions/methods during the execution of assigned tasks, based on given frameworks, personal expertise, and experience.
  • Contributing to the development of OTC in line with technological advancements in the industry.
  • Providing advice on OT and cybersecurity matters.

Tasks/Roles:

  • Providing daily support for Automation, SAS/PCS, Telecom, and OT systems in Tananger and offshore.
  • Providing technical support for operation and maintenance (onshore and offshore).
  • Monitoring the technical condition of the facility.
  • Performing repairs and system maintenance from the OTC.
  • Executing work according to the work plan (PM01, PM02) in a safe and cost-effective manner.
  • Undertaking offshore work for short periods as required.
  • Providing guidance on OT and cybersecurity matters.
  • Supporting and guiding personnel from subcontractors.
  • Coordinating work permits (AT) for subcontractors working remotely.
  • Managing Active Directory groups for assigned systems.
  • Monitoring Splunk dashboards and taking necessary actions.
  • Participating in projects and modifications (onshore and offshore).
  • Defining scope of work for corrective work orders in collaboration with the technical team onshore.
  • Keeping updated on current procedures and regulations within the area of responsibility.
  • Reviewing work packages and verifying change projects according to governing documentation before they are sent offshore.
  • Assisting TA (Technical Authority) in reviewing/developing work packages and maintenance programs.
  • Assisting in the assessment of modifications, changes in use, or interventions that may affect the function, performance, safety, or integrity of equipment/systems – as defined in governing documentation provided in procedure 3093 and/or 6288.
  • Assisting contractor planning environments and COPNO with correct task solutions.
  • Collaborating with and providing support to operation and other technical groups offshore and onshore.
  • Ensuring critical drawings/documentation for equipment are established and updated in SAP, in collaboration with the Document Center.
  • Contributing to multidisciplinary teams.
  • Reporting deviations, hazardous conditions, and proposing improvement measures.
  • Participating in Safety Job Analysis (SJA) as required.
  • Actively using pre-job meetings and PSI (Personal Safety Involvement) to achieve safe job execution.
  • Participating in Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) as needed.
  • Participating in forum meetings with Engineering.
  • Participating in OTC coordination meetings.
  • Attending IT-Change meetings as required.
  • Monitoring work plans, backlogs, and registered deviations.
  • Generating ZC notifications to update the PM01 program according to current legislation, standards, and procedures.
  • Creating Fast Track PM02 and PM10 for urgent minor jobs.
  • Creating notifications M1, M3, ZC, and ZR.

Desired Qualifications 

  • One of the following educations:
    • Automation Engineer or equivalent. Equivalent may include an automation technician with sufficient and relevant experience.
    • Engineering education in telecommunications/data.
    • Technical vocational school education as a telecommunications installer or data electronics technician with relevant experience can compensate for lack of engineering education.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in operation and maintenance of control or telecom systems.
  • Depending on the area of work, background in one or more of the following areas is desirable: Automation Systems, High-Level Programming Languages, Real-Time Programming, Cybernetics, Electronics, Microsoft Windows, Data Communication, Networking, PA, Radio Links, VHF/UHF/TETRA radio systems, marine radar.
  • Accuracy and independence are required in the work.
